Up to bat, it\u2019s Max, which was <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/hbo-max-will-soon-just-be-max-in-most-of-europe-too-164548284.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:formerly called HBO Max;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">formerly called HBO Max<\/a>, HBO Go, HBO and who knows what else. It\u2019s the one with <em>Sopranos<\/em> and <em>Game of Thrones<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The streamer is raising prices across the board, effective today, something we <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/ugh-max-subscription-prices-might-be-going-up-again-181332420.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:strongly suspected was on its way;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>. Here\u2019s how that will impact your bank account, should you want to nab a subscription just in time for season two of <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2019-10-29-house-of-the-dragon-game-of-thrones-hbo.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:House of the Dragon;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The standard ad-free plan has shot up to $17 per month, with a yearly price of $170. This is an increase of $1 per month or $20 per year. The ultimate ad-free plan is now $21 per month or $210 per year. This is an increase of $1 per month or $10 each year. The ultimate plan adds 4K UHD streaming and the ability to stream on four devices at once.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s some good news for those who like really loud ads interrupting prestige TV and sad little Discovery reality shows. The Max With Ads plan will <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/help.max.com\/US\/Answer\/Detail\/000002547\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:remain unchanged at $10 per month;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a> or $100 per year.<\/p>\n<p>Current monthly subscribers will see a price increase on their next billing cycle, so sometime this month. Yearly subscribers remain locked into the lower price until renewal. This is the first price increase since the streamer <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/hbo-max-price-increase-ad-free-170242563.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:rebranded to Max last year;cpos:6;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Max isn\u2019t exactly riddled with new content lately.
