With this new test, LinkedIn joins numerous other popular apps that have launched their own short-form video feeds following TikTok\u2019s rise in popularity, including <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/24\/instagram-expands-its-tiktok-clone-reels-to-new-markets\/\">Instagram<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/08\/01\/in-challenge-to-tiktok-youtube-shorts-gains-new-creation-tools-like-collab-and-qas\/\">YouTube<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/11\/23\/snapchat-launches-a-tiktok-like-feed-called-spotlight-kick-started-by-paying-creators\/\">Snapchat <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/03\/03\/netflix-launches-fast-laughs-a-tiktok-like-feed-of-funny-videos\/\">Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The feed was first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7178611266041630720\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spotted by Austin Null<\/a>, a strategy director at an influencer agency called McKinney. Null posted a short demo on LinkedIn showcasing the new feed, which lives in the app\u2019s navigation bar in a new \u201cVideo\u201d tab. Once you tap on the new Video button, you will enter into a vertical feed of short videos that you can swipe through. You can like a video, leave a comment or share it with others. The company didn\u2019t share details about how the feed determines which videos to show users.<\/p>\n<p>The new addition is similar to the vertical short-form video feeds you see in other apps, but while those feeds include a variety of content ranging from comedy to cooking videos, LinkedIn\u2019s feed is obviously focused on careers and professionalism. While you have always been able to post videos on LinkedIn, the new dedicated feed is\u00a0 designed to boost engagement and discovery on the platform by presenting bite-sized videos that people can quickly scroll through.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/MSFT\/\">Microsoft<\/a>-owned LinkedIn says videos are becoming one of its users\u2019 desired formats for learning from professionals and experts, which is why it\u2019s testing a new way for users to discover relevant videos. The feature is in early testing, so most people won\u2019t have access to it just yet.<\/p>\n<p>The launch of the new feature comes as many creators have amassed notable followings on TikTok for sharing advice and experiences regarding topics like career growth, job searches and professional development. LinkedIn\u2019s new feed would give creators a new place to share their video content and potentially reach more viewers.
