This week we had the absolute honour to attend the workshop organized by Ashley Daniel Foot<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0learn from Jiv\u00a0Parasram<\/strong><\/a>, a cultural leader and\u00a0an award winning multidisciplinary artist and facilitator.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jiv lead us in an open discussion and sharing circle on what it truly means to be\u00a0structuring\u00a0programming through an equity lens.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was a unique opportunity to see cultural leaders come together with artists, creators and cultural producers and ask each other open-ended questions on how we can best move the arc of progress forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you are interested in furthering your knowledge on the subject of equity, a book which came highly recommended during the workshop was\u00a0Frequently Asked White Questions<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0by Ajay Parasram and Alex Khasnabish. This book offers\u00a0a practical entry point into conversations about race with humour and compassion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
