Jan Bartek – AncientPages.com – <\/strong>A late medieval loop for hanging keys or a purse was found near Kamie\u0144 Pomorski, a town in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship of northwestern Poland, on the Baltic coast.<\/p>\n The belt loop was discovered by a member of the Exploration Association for the Saving of Monuments, Saint Kordula. The Museum of the History of the Kamie\u0144ska Land, which houses this remarkable piece in its collection, announced the discovery on social media.<\/p>\n Grzegorz Kurka, the museum’s director and an archaeologist, says this is an extraordinary find.<\/p>\n Credit : Kamien Land History Museum<\/em><\/p>\n In German literature, monuments of this type are called anthropomorphic G\u00fcrtelhaken, Fig\u00fcrliche Schl\u00fcsselhalter, Schl\u00fcsserhaken.<\/p>\n Grzegorz Kurka explained in a press release<\/a> that these unique artifacts have been exclusively found in the northwestern region of Poland. To date, only a handful\u201415 to be precise\u2014of these belt loops have been unearthed across Europe.
