From a young age, Kai Schreiber<\/strong><\/a> knew she was among those that like it hot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Discussing the love of fashion that led her to the runways of Valentino, Mugler and Jean Paul Gaultier, and a desire to emulate film icons like Marilyn Monroe<\/strong><\/a>, the 17-year-old model explained to Interview Magazine<\/em><\/a> last year, “Struggling with gender identity from a young age most likely had something to do with it.”<\/p>\n

Spending years strutting her stuff in the kitchen\u2014Mom Naomi Watts<\/strong><\/a> “can show you all the videos”\u2014said Kai, who identifies as transgender, she “always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Or Euphoria<\/em> star Hunter Schafer<\/strong><\/a>. Or Vogue<\/em> regular Alex Consani<\/strong>, her comrades in couture.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“As a young trans girl, I’m always going to look up to the older generation of transgender people, especially in fashion,” she explained of drawing even closer to her fellow runway regulars during a time the community is “under such hostile attack.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

But together with other stunners who identify as LGBTQ+, “It’s so great that there’s a strong community of us in the fashion world,” Kai noted, “it’s really a doll takeover.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
