A Clark County grand jury has indicted Las Vegas resident Thamrong Hill, 49, on charges of second\u2011degree murder and multiple drug\u2011related felonies. Prosecutors allege that Hill sold fentanyl, disguised as cocaine, to social media influencer Anunay Sood, resulting in his death at Wynn Las Vegas<\/a> last November. KLAS-TV\/Las Vegas <\/em>obtained video of the fatal drug deal<\/a> on the Wynn casino floor.<\/p>\n

(Image: Instagram\/@nunaysood)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Sood, 32, had traveled from India to Las Vegas with his fianc\u00e9e and a friend to attend the Las Vegas Concours d\u2019Elegance, the exclusive luxury car show at the Wynn from Oct. 30-Nov. 2, 2025. Wynn staff had invited Sood, who had nearly 1.5 million followers on Instagram and was named one of Forbes India\u2019s \u201cTop 100 Digital Stars\u201d every year from 2022 to 2024.<\/p>\n
Video shows Hill seated at a slot machine on Nov. 4 when Sood\u2019s fianc\u00e9e approached him asking about obtaining cocaine. She later testified that Hill agreed to sell a small packet of what they thought was cocaine for $40 after Sood withdrew cash from an ATM.<\/p>\n
According the Clark County Coroner, Sood died from accidental fentanyl and ethanol toxicity.<\/p>\n
The trio returned to their hotel room, where both women later testified they had been drinking heavily and that the powder looked suspiciously pale and fine. Sood cut the substance into lines, snorted some, and applied a small amount to his fianc\u00e9e\u2019s gums. Within minutes, all three lost consciousness.<\/p>\n
When the women awoke, they found Sood unresponsive, his lips blue and breathing labored. First responders arrived to find both women vomiting and Sood beyond resuscitation. They were transported to Sunrise Hospital.<\/p>\n
Detectives later recovered a baggie of white powder from the room. A member of the overdose response team testified that the substance\u2019s grayish, drywall\u2011like appearance was consistent with fentanyl rather than cocaine. A second baggie found under a cushion tested positive for ketamine but was believed to be unrelated.<\/p>\n
When the grand jury indicted him on May 22, 2026, Hill had been in custody since December 2025 on unrelated larceny\/drug charges, after officers found fentanyl and methamphetamine in his possession. He has prior convictions for robbery and weapons\u2011related offenses and was released from prison in 2017.<\/p>\n
Sood\u2019s next court appearance in this case is scheduled for June 18.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
