(Image: Etienne Laurent\/AFP via Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>LV Petroleum, which operates convenience stores and gas stations nationwide, told<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/new-life-for-primm-flying-j-truck-stop-may-get-new-owner-ahead-of-july-4-closure\">the Nevada Independent<\/a><\/em> earlier this week that it has formally expressed interest in reopening Whiskey Pete\u2019s. (Image: Primm Valley Resorts)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Seven months after closing Whiskey Pete\u2019s, Affinity switched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/buffalo-bills-is-latest-primm-nev-casino-to-close\/\">Buffalo Bill\u2019s<\/a> to event-only operation and then, earlier this month, announced that the July 4, 2026, abandonment of all its Primm properties.<\/p>\n<p>These include its only remaining operational casino, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/last-primm-nevada-casino-to-close-soon\/\">Primm Valley Casino Resort<\/a>; as well as the truck stop, a gas station, a Lotto store just across the California line, and the company-owned apartments behind the casinos that Affinity told its employees to vacate by July 6.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Whiskey Pete\u2019s, Roach said, LV Petroleum would reopen the truck stop under the TA Travel Center banner and keep the workforce housing open \u2013 effectively reviving a third of Primm\u2019s businesses.<\/p>\n<h2>Not So Fast, Says Primm<\/h2>\n<p>In a statement Thursday (May 28), the Primm family \u2014 which owns the land and leases it to Affinity \u2014 said this isn\u2019t necessarily the proposal it will accept.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur family is currently considering opportunities from involving multiple well-established operators that have successfully operated similar hotel-casino properties in Nevada,\u201d read the statement from Primm South president Cory Clemetson, which described reports suggesting that any agreement is imminent as \u201coverstated and premature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Affinity, owned by New York\u2013based Z Capital Partners, told state gaming regulators last week that Primm is no longer viable under its management and that it is working with the landlord on a transition. Z Capital\u2019s outside counsel confirmed receiving LV Petroleum\u2019s letter of interest on May 13 and said the board convened within hours to acknowledge it.<\/p>\n<p>Regulators have urged Affinity and Z Capital to keep them informed of any developments that could preserve jobs and maintain operations in the struggling border community.<\/p>\n<p>For now, Primm\u2019s future still hinges on a new operator stepping up with an acceptable proposal before Nevada\u2019s newest ghost town is born.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/potential-primm-partner-promises-to-revive-whiskey-petes\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Posted on: May 28, 2026, 07:03h.\u00a0 Last updated on: May 29, 2026, 03:50h.
