It should also show whether your ballot was mailed out.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kqed.org\/news\/12058837\/election-2025-am-i-registered-to-vote-check-voter-registration-prop-50\"> Read our guide to making sure you\u2019re correctly registered to vote.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can also use <a href=\"https:\/\/california.ballottrax.net\/voter\/\">the Where\u2019s My Ballot? Tool<\/a> to check whether your ballot has been sent.<\/p>\n<p>Finding out if your voter registration is correct will help you determine next steps in getting your ballot:<\/p>\n<p><strong>If your ballot was sent to the wrong address<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If it turns out your ballot was missing because your voter registration wasn\u2019t updated, don\u2019t feel bad \u2014 people move all the time and forget to update their registrations accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to update your voter registration online using<a href=\"https:\/\/voterstatus.sos.ca.gov\/\"> the secretary of state\u2019s voter status page<\/a> was May 18. You can also ask for Same Day Registration at an open voting location near you. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sos.ca.gov\/elections\/upcoming-elections\/primary-election-june-2-2026\">The first vote centers open <\/a>May 23 in certain counties, with more early voting locations opening May 30.<\/p>\n<p>When you do this, your county will cancel the ballot that went to your old address and give you a new one to vote with.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kqed.org\/news\/12082074\/california-primary-2026-dropbox-near-me-san-francisco-bay-area-find-my-polling-place-election-day-voter-guide\">Read more about registering (or re-registering) to vote in person.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a id=\"Whatsthequickestwaytogetareplacementballot\"\/>If your voter registration address was correct, but your ballot never showed up<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If it\u2019s more than six days before Election Day, you can just<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sos.ca.gov\/elections\/voting-resources\/county-elections-offices\"> call your county elections office <\/a>and ask them to send a new ballot. Scroll to the bottom of this story to find your Bay Area county elections office.<\/p>\n<p>Your county elections office won\u2019t mail you a ballot six days or less before Election Day because it can\u2019t be sure the ballot will reach you in time.
