Netflix adds and removes content daily. The streaming giant\u2019s licensing deals with studios and production companies typically run for only a few months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u201cCasino\u201d was added to the Netflix library on March 1. The title will no longer be watchable in less than two weeks on Monday, June 1.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">After June 1, those interested in watching \u201cCasino\u201d will need to purchase or rent the movie through video-on-demand platforms like Amazon Prime Video and the Apple TV Store.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0C<\/span><span class=\"s1\">asino Flicks<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While numerous movies have used Las Vegas and casinos as backdrops, a few notable mentions, including the \u201cOcean\u2019s Eleven\u201d films, \u201cCasino Royale,\u201d and \u201cRounders,\u201d no movie embodies old-school Vegas more than \u201cCasino.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"callout\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The film chronicles the glamour and brutal reality of Las Vegas when it was run by the mob in the 1970s and 1980s. \u201cCasino,\u201d along with \u201cMean Streets and \u201cGoodfellas,\u201d were among Scorsese\u2019s first gangster genre masterpieces, clearing the way for later blockbusters that included \u201cThe Gangs of New York,\u201d \u201cThe Departed,\u201d and \u201cThe Irishman.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cCasino\u201d focuses on Sam \u201cAce\u201d Rothstein, played by Robert De Niro, a sports handicapper and bookie tapped by the Chicago Mafia to run its Las Vegas casino. Ace falls for Ginger McKenna, played by Sharon Stone, a casino hustler and con artist whose substance abuse strains their business and personal relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Ace manages to grow the casino\u2019s profits, but he encounters difficulties in dealing with Nicky Santoro, played by Joe Pesci, a violent mob enforcer whose violent temper draws the eyes of federal and local law enforcement.<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Scorsese Returning to Netflix<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Though \u201cCasino\u201d is departing Netflix, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/scorsese-returning-to-vegas-casino-floor-for-new-netflix-drama\/\">Scorsese will soon return<\/a> with a new series that he\u2019s producing with the creators of \u201cBillions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Scorsese is serving as the executive producer of \u201cThe Roman,\u201d starring Oscar Isaac, Betty Gilpin (\u201cDeath by Lightning\u201d), Alec Baldwin (\u201cThe Departed\u201d), and David Costabile (\u201cBillions,\u201d \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d). The eight-episode series explores the \u201chigh-stakes world of Las Vegas.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">C<\/span><span class=\"s1\">reators\/showrunners\/co-executive producers Brian Koppelman and David Levien of \u201cBillions\u201d are no strangers to the world of gambling, as their screenwriting debut was the 1998 cult poker classic \u201cRounders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/tudum\/articles\/vegas-scorsese-series-release-date-photos-news\">Netflix<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The hour-long drama is set in the high-stakes, sharp-elbowed present-day Las Vegas casino business, which is a modernized but still dangerous version of the legendary city.
