It also would not say how many people in Michigan are affected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGM is transforming its Information Technology organization to better position the company for the future,\u201d according to an emailed statement. \u201cAs part of that work, we have made the difficult decision to eliminate certain roles globally. We are grateful for the contributions of the employees affected and are committed to supporting them through this transition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cuts were first reported by Bloomberg, which cited \u201cpeople familiar with the matter\u201d who asked not to be identified.<\/p>\n<p>This is the latest round of job cuts for the company since the layoff of several hundred workers last October.
