(Image: Pavlo Gonchar\/SOPA Images\/LightRocket via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Trading Suspended<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The regulatory hammer halts all trading of NorthStar\u2019s securities in Canada. The company announced that its independent auditor informed the company that it was withdrawing its audit report. The company\u2019s annual meeting, that was scheduled for May 25, 2026, also has been postponed.<\/p>\n<p>The auditor withdrew its report on the previous year\u2019s numbers, saying it couldn\u2019t rely on controls around a key vendor\u2019s player account management software.<\/p>\n<p>The company disagreed and is working with the vendor to ensure data integrity, but the OSC rejected NorthStar\u2019s request for a softer management cease trade order, not convinced that everything would get fixed fast enough.<\/p>\n<h2>Platform Still Accepting Bets<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/northstar-q3-2025-financial-results-revenue-growth\/\">NorthStar Gaming<\/a> Holdings Inc. secured its Ontario iGaming license in April 2022, launching its online casino and sports betting site, NorthStar Bets, the following month.<\/p>\n<p>While the stock is now frozen on the TSX Venture Exchange, the OSC decision doesn\u2019t impact betting on NorthStar Bets.<\/p>\n<p>The core betting platform continues to operate normally. Once the vendor audit issue gets sorted out, the company can get the audited statements filed then apply to have the OSC order lifted.<\/p>\n<p>Last December, the company announced leadership changes \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/canadian-gaming-news-moskowitz-out-as-northstar-ceo\/\">Michael Moskowitz<\/a>, who had been Chief Executive Officer when the company got its license, left the company, replaced by Corey Goodman as Interim CEO.<\/p>\n<h2>Management Changes<\/h2>\n<p>This past March, the company issued a statement detailing its strategic priorities, which it detailed as\u00a0disciplined execution, effective capital allocation, and improving the company\u2019s profitability profile.<\/p>\n<p>It focused on areas like improved advertising productivity through more return-driven media deployment and enhancing the player experience to prioritize customer retention.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\">\n<p>We are focused on taking deliberate, measured steps to position the Company for profitability,\u201d said Goodman. \u201cThe expected annualized G&amp;A savings reflect measures that have largely been implemented.
