The deal could be worth up to $20 billion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.army.mil\/article\/291074\/u_s_army_awards_enterprise_contract_for_it_commercial_solutions\">announcement<\/a>, the contract starts with a five-year \u201cbase period,\u201d with the option to extend the deal for an additional five years, and it includes Anduril hardware, software, infrastructure, and services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Army describes the agreement as a single enterprise contract consolidating what had been \u201cmore than 120 separate procurement actions for Anduril\u2019s commercial solutions.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe modern battlefield is increasingly defined by software,\u201d said Gabe Chiulli, the chief technology officer at the Department of Defense\u2019s Office of the Chief Information Officer, in a statement. \u201cTo maintain our advantage, we must be able to acquire and deploy software capabilities with speed and efficiency,\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anduril was co-founded by Palmer Luckey, who was previously known for selling VR startup Oculus to Facebook (now Meta). <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2017\/03\/30\/palmer-luckey-facebook\/\">Facebook fired Luckey<\/a> after controversy erupted following a news report that he\u2019d donated to a pro-Trump political group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luckey has repeatedly insisted that the media misrepresented his political views, but according to a <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/03\/02\/technology\/pentagon-anduril-palmer-luckey.html\">recent feature in The New York Times<\/a>, Luckey and Anduril have been embraced by the second Trump administration, thanks to his vision for remaking the U.S. military with autonomous fighter jets, drones, submarines, and more.
