Other destinations are Richmond, Vallejo and Alameda Island.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can buy an actual ferry ticket in the Ferry Building, pay with your Clipper card or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kqed.org\/news\/12065714\/clipper-card-new-bart-caltrain-login-next-generation-discounts\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tap on and off using a credit or debit card<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Taking Caltrain south to go <i>around <\/i>the bay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A significantly longer option that will require taking the southbound Caltrain to the end of the line at San Jos\u00e9 Diridon station. Runs until early mornings, seven days a week.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Taking the San Francisco Bay Ferry across the bay<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sanfranciscobayferry.com\/routes-schedules\/oakland-alameda\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oakland &amp; Alameda ferry<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: An option for commuters waiting at 12th Street and 19th Street Oakland stations. Ferries depart every 30 minutes from the Oakland Ferry Terminal in Jack London Square, which is a 20-minute walk from the 12th Street BART station and roughly a 25-minute walk from the 19th Street BART station. You can also ride the 72, 72L or 72M AC Transit bus from either BART station to Jack London Square for a faster journey.
