This month, I\u2019ve been spotting cool braids all over Brooklyn. Here\u2019s my friend Alison<\/a> wearing a double-braid ponytail at our neighborhood caf\u00e9. \u201cIt took two seconds, cost nothing, and got a ton of compliments,\u201d she told me. So chic and easy!<\/p>\n

\"Brooklyn<\/p>\n

Do (or would) you burp your house<\/a>? Basically, it\u2019s a German approach called l\u00fcften where you open all your windows each day to air out your rooms, no matter the weather. My English dad<\/a> does the same thing, and said Angelina about raising kids in Sweden<\/a>: \u201cEven in the thick of winter, many Swedish parents put their kids, bundled up in their strollers, outside to nap\u2026. If you\u2019re sick, your doctor will say, open the window.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last night, I went to see the new Guggenheim show<\/a>, and, with 12-year-old Anton as my stylist, I decided to wear a black lace top with red lipstick. Here\u2019s the shirt<\/a> I\u2019m wearing, plus three more pretty ones: gathered<\/a>, collar<\/a>, and short sleeve<\/a>. (Hello to cute Anton drumming in the back of these photos!)<\/p>\n

\"French<\/p>\n

Now that I\u2019m head chef (lol<\/a>) for our little crew, I\u2019m always looking for easy recipes that still have lots of flavor. I came across French Cooking for Two<\/a> by Mich\u00e8le Roberts at a local bookstore, and we\u2019ve been trying her incredibly simple dishes \u2014\u00a0like, chickpeas with spinach; lentil soup; and baked pears. She also offers cultural tidbits \u2014\u00a0for example, in a recipe for scrambled eggs with mushrooms, she notes, \u201cIn France, you would not be offered this for breakfast but for supper.\u201d<\/p>\n
