If <\/span>Kate Hudson<\/strong><\/a> wanted to be <\/span>almost<\/span><\/span> famous, she had to do it on her own.<\/span><\/p>\n Despite growing up with famous parents <\/span>Goldie Hawn<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>and <\/span>Kurt Russell<\/strong><\/a>, the <\/span>How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days<\/span><\/em> actress said that she and brother <\/span>Oliver Hudson<\/strong> were not given any handouts.<\/span><\/p>\n “I’m being really honest with you, I grew up in L.A. where I saw kids coast by with parents who gave them everything,” Kate said on the Feb. 19 of the <\/span>Happy Sad Confused<\/span><\/em><\/a> <\/span><\/em>podcast. “And I had the opposite parents.”<\/span><\/p>\n “We were clearly privileged kids,” the 46-year-old continued. “But I do think that my parents were so adamant about how none of it belonged to us, that we didn’t earn it, that in order to get a life [like the one] we were living, we had to earn it ourselves, that that would never be available to us unless we had the same kind of work ethic.”<\/span><\/p>\n
