Charlie Puth<\/strong><\/a> is a sentimental man when it comes to <\/span>Wicked: For Good<\/span><\/em><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The \u201cSee You Again\u201d singer came to the defense of <\/span>Ariana Grande<\/strong><\/a> and <\/span>Cynthia Erivo<\/strong><\/a> after both actresses were snubbed when the <\/span>2026 Oscar<\/span><\/a> nominations <\/span>were announced Jan. 22<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAriana and Cynthia not getting nominated for <\/span>Wicked<\/span><\/em> is such a disappointment,\u201d Charlie <\/span>wrote on X<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t watch a lot of movies, but I believe the amazing musicality they both showcased should be acknowledged.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to a lack of nominations for Ariana and Cynthia, <\/span>Wicked: For Good<\/span><\/em> was also shut out of the Oscar race entirely as it didn\u2019t pick up nominations for Best Picture or for either of its two original songs, \u201cNo Place Like Home\u201d and \u201cThe Girl in the Bubble.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n While the film didn\u2019t receive any Oscar nominations, Cynthia was recognized for her performance <\/span>of Elphaba<\/span> with a nomination at the 2026 Golden Globes, <\/span>while Ariana\u2019s performance of Glinda<\/span> was <\/span>nominated for a Golden <\/span>Globe as <\/span>well as Best Supporting Actress at the upcoming Actor Awards, which will be held on March 1. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
