Now, the company is extending this to three European markets: the UK, Germany and France.

In the UK and Germany, the program is called “Certified Re-Newed”, while in France it is “Refurbished Premium By Samsung” (or “Reconditionné Premium par Samsung”).

Either way, you get the same thing. You can use these links for a quick look. Note that availability varies per unit – some storage options aren’t available at the moment. Also, as far as we can tell, the Edge and FE are not part of this program, for now at least (those did launch later).

Only top-grade returned units are eligible for the program. Those undergo rigorous cleaning and have to pass 100+ quality tests. If repairs are needed, genuine Samsung parts are used (including a certified new battery). Additionally, the latest software is installed and the phones are issued new IMEI numbers.

Finally, the refurbished phones are packaged in a new box (made from recyclable materials). The company also includes “the same in-box items as a new device”, though these days that’s just a USB-C cable and a SIM ejector tool.

Samsung offers the same warranty for its CRN phones as it does for new units, which sets it apart from third-party refurbishment deals.

Samsung Care+

If the regular warranty isn’t enough, you can sign up for Samsung Care+.
