Warning: This story contains spoilers from <\/span><\/em>Wicked<\/span>, <\/span>Wicked: For Good <\/span>as well as <\/span><\/em>the Broadway musical.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n The Yellow Brick Road is paved with changes.<\/span><\/p>\n Those changes were all over when it came to adapting <\/span>Wicked<\/span><\/em><\/a> for the big screen, with part one hitting theaters in 2024 and its sequel <\/span>Wicked: For Good<\/span><\/em> being released in November 2025\u2014and picking up seven <\/span>Critics Choice Award<\/span><\/a> nominations, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress for <\/span>Ariana<\/strong> <\/span>Grande<\/strong><\/a> and Best Costume Design, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n And both films took some liberties with their source material, the 2003 Broadway musical <\/span>Wicked<\/span><\/em>, itself an adaptation of <\/span>Gregory Maguire<\/strong>‘s 1995 book <\/span>Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n With the release of <\/span>Wicked <\/span><\/em>in 2024<\/span>, fans were treated to act one of the musical, which\u2014despite its run time being almost twice that of the show\u2019s first act\u2014changed very little in terms of story and music. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
