Rosalina’s Storybook from Super Mario Galaxy is discounted to only $17.49 (was $25) at Amazon<\/a>. The 30% price cut is the best offer yet at any retailer, but the deal probably won’t be available for long. Last week, Amazon and Walmart<\/a> had a limited-time deal that dropped the price to $21.13. Both retailers sold out, and Walmart has yet to restock its inventory. Orders placed today (December 12) are expected to arrive before Christmas. <\/p>\n

Dark Horse published the hardcover edition of Rosalina’s Storybook on November 25. Strangely, it was extremely <\/em>difficult to preorder a copy from Amazon. For months, restocks at Amazon would disappear in hours, so it’s a bit surprising to see such a substantial discount this soon after publication. Revealed alongside Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2<\/a> for Switch and Switch 2, Rosalina’s Storybook has been the No. 1 best-selling new release from Dark Horse<\/a> since it first appeared on Amazon in September.<\/p>\n

The full-color picture book details Rosalina’s journey to outer space, where she became the protector and leader of the Lumas. All nine chapters from the original <\/em>in-game book are included with full-page illustrations. The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection for Switch and Switch 2 has a new chapter, but you won’t find those pages in this book.<\/p>\n

Rosalina’s Storybook is a well-made hardcover with great artwork. I’ve read it numerous times to my four-year-old son–he is obsessed with the Super Mario franchise–and it’s now his favorite Mario book. Considering we’ve read the Super Mario Adventures comic collection<\/a> probably 100 times, this is high praise.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2<\/a> launched October 2 in physical and digital format for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The physical edition is for original Switch consoles, but you can upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free. Both games support traditional button\/stick controls and motion controls, and the Switch 2 version runs in 4K resolution. You can get the physical edition of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 for $69 at Amazon<\/a> and Walmart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nintendo is also releasing its first Super Mario Galaxy Amiibo figures featuring Mario and Luma<\/a><\/strong> and Rosalina and Lumas<\/a><\/strong>. The new Amiibo are up for preorder for $40 each and are scheduled to launch April 2, 2026. Just keep in mind that preorders for the new Amiibo have been going in and out of stock. Amazon and Walmart are currently sold out of both characters, but you can preorder Mario<\/a> and Rosalina<\/a> from Target and Best Buy<\/a>. Target also has the original Rosalina Super Smash Bros. Amiibo<\/a> in stock for $20.<\/p>\n

The lengthy wait aligns the new Amiibo with the April 2026 premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Dark Horse Super Mario Books<\/h3>\n

Dark Horse Books has previously collaborated with Nintendo on multiple Super Mario books, including Super Mario Encyclopedia<\/a> and The Art of Super Mario Odyssey<\/a>. Both of these highly rated hardcover books are steeply discounted at Amazon.<\/p>\n

Rosalina’s Storybook is the longest Super Mario picture book, but there are other books parents can read to kids while they wait for their preorder to arrive, including Super Mario Little Golden Book<\/a> and The Super Mario Bros. Movie<\/a>. We’d also recommend checking out the aforementioned Super Mario Adventures comic collection<\/a> and Super Mario Manga Mania<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Metroid Prime Trilogy Retrospective<\/h3>\n

One of Nintendo’s other big Fall 2025 games received a companion book of its own in October. Metroid fans can revisit the original trilogy in book format with Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective<\/a><\/strong>. Nintendo partnered with Piggyback–the publisher behind the highly rated Legend of Zelda strategy guides<\/a>–to create the first official book about the Metroid series in a long time.<\/p>\n

The 208-page hardcover book was initially revealed last fall with a June 2025 release date, but it was pushed back to October 28<\/strong>. Metroid fans can buy the lavish retrospective for $46.59 (was $50) at Amazon. The clothbound hardcover has a metallic foil illustration of Samus on the cover and includes archival artwork and behind-the-scenes commentary from the team at Retro Studios. It even has a foreword written by Kensuke Tanabe, the series producer of the Metroid Prime games.<\/p>\n\n
