After sharing plans to move to South Carolina, Jersey girl Theresa and Indiana-based Gerry revealed in April 2024<\/a> that they couldn’t agree on a home base and were divorcing three months post-TV wedding.<\/p>\n As Gerry explained on Good Morning America<\/em><\/a>, “We look at these situations and I think we just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to, to live apart.”<\/p>\n Agreed Theresa, “We never got to the point where we made that decision.”<\/p>\n However, she later confessed this wasn’t the only factor.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not just the location thing,\u201d she noted on a November 2024 episode of the <\/a>Almost Famous<\/em><\/a>\u00a0podcast<\/a>. \u201cYou really can\u2019t know someone in four weeks. I\u2019ll just say that.”<\/p>\n In November 2025, Gerry shared much more, detailing their long list of incompatibilities in his memoir Golden Years<\/em><\/a>. They didn’t agree on everything from food to how to spend money, but the biggest thorn, said Turner, was Theresa going back on her plan to retire because she wanted another year to build her nest egg.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I was a little resentful because her economic situation wasn\u2019t at all what she had described on the show,” wrote Gerry, “leaving me to wonder what else I had misunderstood, or she had misrepresented.”\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
