Martha Stewart<\/strong><\/a> doesn’t knead a fancy title.<\/p>\n So much so, the cookbook author’s grandkids Jude Stewart<\/strong>, 14, and Truman Stewart<\/strong><\/a>, 13, simply call her by her first name.<\/p>\n “They’ve called me Martha since the day they were born,” the 84-year-old shared on the Nov. 30 episode of QVC+’s 50+ & Unfiltered\u00a0<\/em><\/a>podcast<\/a>. “And all their friends call me Martha. None of them call me Mrs. Stewart. I’m not a Mrs. Stewart.”<\/p>\n And the reason has to do with Martha’s only child Alexis Stewart<\/strong>, who welcomed Jude and Truman through gestational surrogacy.<\/p>\n “My daughter calls me Martha,” Martha explained. “She’s always called me Martha.”<\/p>\n In fact, the domestic doyenne considers herself and Alexis\u2014who she shares with ex-husband Andrew Stewart<\/strong><\/a>\u2014to be more “friends” than mother-daughter.<\/p>\n “It’s better being a grandma,” Martha noted, explaining how she had somewhat of a fraught relationship with Alexis that led to their current dynamic. “Even now.”<\/p>\n She added of her daughter, “We’ve very different. I’m an extrovert, she’s not.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
