Except the data might not be reliable.<\/p>\n While X\u2019s new \u201cAbout This Account\u201d feature includes information about when a user joined and how they downloaded the app, geographic location is getting the most attention by far.<\/p>\n Posting a gallery of MAGA accounts that are apparently based in Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Thailand, left-wing influencer Micah Erfan wrote<\/a>, \u201cThis is total armageddon for the online right.\u201d<\/p>\n Many of the accounts raising eyebrows, like the apparently Pakistan-based @American<\/a>, are relatively small, though others<\/a> have hundreds of thousands of followers.<\/p>\n X\u2019s director of product Nikita Bier said Saturday<\/a> that the feature is being rolled out globally, describing this as \u201can important first step to securing the integrity of the global town square.\u201d However, some<\/a> users<\/a> have complained that their listed location is wildly inaccurate. Bier acknowledged<\/a> that the \u201cdata was not 100% for old accounts\u201d and suggested<\/a> that \u201ca few rough edges \u2026 will be resolved by Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n
