Realme\u2019s GT series has emerged as one of the best value-for-money flagships in recent years \u2013 challenging even OnePlus, which held that title for a long time. The GT 7 Pro had a good run as one of the more affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite phones out there. Now, its successor promises even more value.<\/p>\n

The Realme GT 8 Pro<\/a> uses the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and that is not the only upgrade over the GT 7 Pro<\/a>. The screen is sharper (6.79\u201d 1440p+, 144Hz vs. 6.78\u201d 1264p+, 120Hz), the battery is bigger (7,000mAh vs. 6,500mAh) and the camera is better.<\/p>\n

Realme GT 8 Pro<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The 3x\/65mm telephoto camera now has a large 1\/1.56\u201d 200MP sensor (Samsung HP5). This is quite the departure from the medium-sized 1\/1.95\u201d 50MP sensor inside the 3.5x\/73mm periscope of last year\u2019s model. The ultra-wide also got a major bump to a 50MP sensor (up from a lowly 8MP sensor).<\/p>\n

The Ricoh GR mode is cool for fans of street photography, though we found it a bit limiting. The replaceable camera island is a gimmick, which some might find fun (and others can just ignore). The important thing is that the camera hardware produced excellent results with only minor complaints \u2013 this is excellent for something that costs a lot less than an all-out flagship like the Oppo Find X9 Pro.<\/p>\n

The Realme GT 8 Pro has a fast chipset (the GPU needs more cooling), the display is great and the battery is one of the best we\u2019ve tested (not as good as the Oppo or OnePlus 15, though).<\/p>\n

The Oppo Find X9 Pro is a \u20ac1,300 phone and the vivo X300 Pro is even pricier at \u20ac1,400. Only the OnePlus 15 is in the same ballpark as the Realme at \u20ac1,000 (these prices are for 512GB units).<\/p>\n
