After issuing a citation, according to the police report, the arresting officer returned to the vehicle and found Walker asleep at the wheel.<\/p>\n
According to the report, officers had to call Walker\u2019s name multiple times before he woke up. When he complied with an order to exit the vehicle, officers noticed him \u201cswaying back and forth\u201d while walking and detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.<\/p>\n
Walker admitted having patronized a hookah lounge earlier that evening, the arresting officer wrote, but declined to submit to a voluntary blood test. This prompted the officer to obtain a warrant for two blood samples.<\/p>\n
Walker, who provided a Michigan home address during booking, was processed at the Clark County Detention Center and released without posting bond \u2014 standard procedure for non-violent misdemeanors in Nevada.<\/p>\n
As of Tuesday, formal charges had yet to be filed \u2014 though this is a common delay in DUI cases where authorities must await toxicology results \u2014 a process that can take several weeks.<\/p>\n
If convicted of misdemeanor DUI \u2014 a first-time offense for Walker based on public records \u2014 the penalties could include up to six months in jail, fines up to $1,000, mandatory DUI school, community service, and a suspended license for 185 days, plus ignition interlock device installation.<\/p>\n
Walker has not issued a public statement on the arrest. A status hearing is scheduled for January 8.<\/p>\n
Walker, a free agent, last played for the Detroit Lions during the 2023 season. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers on August 5, 2024 but never played for the team, having been released three weeks later.<\/p>\n
Walker was suspended for the first 12 games of the 2025 season. The league\u2019s transaction wire provided no official reason for the suspension, a rarity that has fueled speculation among fans and analysts.<\/p>\n
Even if signed by a team for this season despite his DUI arrest, Walker would be ineligible to play until late November 2025, severely limiting his market value at age 30.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
