And while Jacob is the latest in a long line of stars to play Frankenstein\u2019s monster, joining the likes of <\/span>Boris<\/strong> <\/span>Karloff<\/strong>, <\/span>Robert<\/strong> <\/span>De Niro<\/strong> and <\/span>Benedict<\/strong> <\/span>Cumberbatch<\/strong>, the <\/span>Euphoria<\/span><\/em> star originally wasn\u2019t sure if he should revisit those performances for inspiration before filming began.<\/span><\/p>\n “At first I thought, ‘I\u2019ll stay away from this. I want to do my own thing,'” he confessed. “And then I asked Guillermo, \u2018Should I watch the other Frankensteins?\u2019 And he goes, \u2018What the f–k do you mean?\u2019”<\/span><\/p>\n When Jacob shared that he didn\u2019t want to be \u201cinfluenced\u201d by the other films, Guillermo was quick to assure him that his performance would be his own.<\/span><\/p>\n “He says, \u2018My friend, it\u2019s a movie, it can\u2019t f–king hurt you,\u2019” Jacob recalled. “I went home, and I just binged them.”<\/span><\/p>\n Frankenstein<\/span><\/em> hits select theaters Oct. 17 before being available on Netflix beginning Nov. 7.<\/span><\/p>\n
