U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced the following grants to organizations, tribal entities, and communities in Alaska. Grants also include funding announced for Alaska from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: $395,000 to the Wrangell Public School District, $68.7 million for the Port of Alaska, $10.1 million for the Port of Adak, $5.3 million for the Sand Point Floating Dock, $28.2 million to Prince William Sound ferry terminals (Cordova, Tatitlek, & Chenega) and $30.3 million for the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area for federal broadband.
Statewide
- Alaska – Statewide: $28.2 million to the Prince William Sound Economic Development District from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Port Infrastructure Development Program.
- Alaska – Statewide: $3 million to the Alaska Railroad Corporation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency for permanent repairs to the Alaska Railroad at mile point 52.24 as a result of major disaster.
- Alaska – Statewide: $324,237 to the State of Alaska from the U.S. Department of Treasury for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
- Alaska – Statewide: $30.3 million to the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the fiber-to-the-premises ReConnect Program.
Southcentral
- Anchorage: $7.2 million to the Municipality of Anchorage from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency for the Emergency Protective Services.
- Anchorage: $68.7 million to the Municipality of Anchorage from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Port Infrastructure Development Program for the Port of Alaska to reconfigure and realign the shoreline within the area.
- Anchorage: $2.4 million to the Head Start Program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the Kids’ Corps Inc.
- Eklutna: $5,000 to the Eklutna Native Village from the U.S. Department of Treasury for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
Southeast
- Haines: $1.2 million to the Haines Borough from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency for permanent repairs to Porcupine Trail Road as a result of damage caused by severe storms.
- Juneau: $237,408 to Alaska Department of Health and Human Services from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Maternal and Child Health Services.
- Wrangell: $395,000 to the Wrangell Public School District from the Environmental Protection Agency for the Clean School Bus Program.
Southwest and Western
- Adak: $10.1 million to the Aleut Corporation from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Port Infrastructure Development Program to make repairs and updates to the primary supply pier.
- Sand Point: $5.3 million to the Sand Point Floating Dock Project from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Port Infrastructure Development Program to install a new floating dock.
