Metaverse platform The Sandbox partners with Sergio “Kun” Agüero and Buenos Aires-based Eter Studio to launch “Kuniverse.”
Argentinian multi-winning footballer played for Barcelona, Manchester City, and Athlético Madrid teams before his retirement in December last year. While no longer active, Kun still wishes to connect with his fans worldwide, and this time he turned to The Sandbox, which makes the metaverse fan meet-ups possible.
Kuniverse will include football gaming experiences, dancing, and a virtual truck with Argentinian food. Additionally, The Sandbox will release a collection of 9,320 NFT avatars to be used on the platform. The NFTs represent different stages of the player’s career and are divided into five rarity levels: Football Kuns, Future Kuns, E-Kuns, Robot Kuns, and Special Kuns.

NFTs will grant holders access to exclusive benefits, including music events, esports competitions, and even a chance to win a trip to Qatar’s World Cup, where Sergio Agüero will be present.
The experience goes live on November 6. Football fans can already sign up for the whitelist to access the presale, starting 24 hours before the public sale.
“Kun Agüero’s popularity has transcended the global football and gaming communities, and we’re pleased to bring it on next into the open Metaverse with The Sandbox. We look forward to seeing the Kuniverse come to life as a creative space full of fun activities, not only Kun fans but The Sandbox community as a whole,”
said the COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, Sebastien Borget.
The Sandbox keeps introducing exciting partnerships with well-known celebrities from different spheres. In August, the platform released Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen experience and built a Metaverse version of Paris Hilton’s Mansion to throw a virtual party with fans.
